Project 365: Day 130 -- Mother's Day & Dinner with Friends

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! I got the requisite phone call from my kiddo today, but she calls almost everyday, so it wasn't a big deal. I spent the day going over all the guidebooks and B&B directories for Ireland, trying to decide where to stay. Kelly spent the day working in the yard.

We did go to dinner last night, joining some friends we haven't seen in NINE years. Since we last saw them, they have gone from being DINKS (Dual Income, No Kids) who traveled a lot and rode 100 miles a day on their bikes, to having two kids--and another on the way--for a total of 3 under the age of 3, a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom) and a business owner. Wow, what a difference nine years can make!

And how did we come to reconnect after nine years, you ask? Facebook, of course! It was so nice to reconnect, and I sincerely hope that we don't let another nine years go by without seeing them again.

Project 365: Day 129 -- Rosemary

My husband Kelly is a man of many interests. One is cooking. And he loves to cook with fresh, organic ingredients. Another is gardening--particularly herbs. He's been growing this Rosemary for several years now, wintering it in a box with plexi-glass panels. It's gotten so big that it barely fits in the box anymore, and new plants have sprouted up around it.

Project 365: Day 128 -- Roses in Bloom

The rose bush along our front walk bloomed for the first time this year. It probably won't last long, since the deer love roses. So I grabbed a few shots while I could. It started raining again as I was shooting. Will we ever see the sun again? I'm beginning to think not. Rain and storms in the forecast through the weekend and most of next week...

Project 365: Day 127 -- Another Layout

I've been trying to work on the backlog of photos I have printed for my scrapbooks before printing any new ones. Of course, I haven't printed anything in about 3 years, other than some Christmas photos. The photos in this layout are from 2004, I think. I am soooo far behind!

Project 365: Day 126 -- A Day of Visiting, Preparation, and a Mess

I spent a lovely day with girlfriends, scrapbooking, down at Donna's house in Columbia. We were joined by another Page High School survivor, Lora. While both Donna and I knew Lora in high school, and we all some common friends, we weren't actually friends. But we all connected via Facebook...

On the way home from Donna's house, I snapped a shot of the preparations for the annual Steeplechase at Werner Park.

And when I got home, and started to put my scrapbooking things away, my shelf collapsed and now I have a mess to clean up! Does this mean I have too much stuff?

Project 365: Day 125 -- Lunch with a Friend

Had lunch today with my friend and colleague, Sheri. We met at Red Tree Coffee House, and brought our cameras, since we both shoot Nikon D700's. We spent most of our time chatting and enjoying our lunch, but I did snap this image on a table near the front door...

Project 365: Day 124 -- Changing the Linens

Today I stripped the beds, and washed all the linens. While I was trying to make the bed up fresh, Woofey decided he was ready for a nap--on our bed. He continually got in my way while trying to make the bed!

Project 365: Day 123 -- National Scrapbook Weekend!

Yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day, and most of us scrapbookers out there made a weekend of it. Many of the scrapbooking internet communities had on-line crops with challenges and contests. I didn't enter any of the challenges or contests, but I did get a few layouts done over the course of the weekend. Most of them were photos that were at least 5 years old, that I have just never gotten around to scrapping. Here are two of my layouts completed this weekend:

Project 365: Day 122 -- The Movies

It was another damp and dreary weekend here. Seems as though we will never see the sun again at this point. SO we did something we rarely do--we went to the movies. Now, I like movies, and I like going to the movies. But frankly, I think that at $8-$9 per person, plus another $25 for popcorn and cokes--well, the movies lately just haven't been that good. And under normal circumstances, I would say this was no exception. But we were bored, and it's been raining for days, so what the hell, right? Not to mention my spousal unit loves Jennifer Garner. So we saw Ghosts of Girlfriends Past...cute, with a few really funny parts. And we went to a matinee, so it was only $6 a piece, right? There are far more wasteful ways to blow $12. And the sushi and shrimp tempura we had after the movie was great.

Project 365: Day 121 -- A Dreaded Task Accomplished--Almost

Ah, it feels so good to accomplish a task I hate. I hate dealing with paperwork. I really hate filing. So for my In Box to be this empty is a real accomplishment today!
