One of the many quirks of an older home is that it's drafty. There aren't double-paned, energy efficient windows in it. The thermostat is in the hallway, and therefore registers a higher temperature in the winter than the big living room area with three drafty windows (4, if you count the dining room, which is open to the living room.) SO in the winter, we have to supplement the furnace with this monstrosity. I am so glad that spring is here now, and this beast can go back out to the barn!
